About Melinda

With a background in education, marketing, counseling, health & fitness and even photography, Melinda has turned her attention to researching and writing about cancer and other serious diseases.  After the death of two close friends to cancer, her career took an abrupt turn as she spent nearly two years pulling together her research on preventing and reversing cancer and writing the newly published book, Diet and Cancer: Is There a Connection? Health Secrets to Slowing Cancer if You Have It & Preventing Cancer if You Don’t

Melinda has had a life long interest in studying and learning about health.  In 2007 she produced a 2-day event celebrating health and fitness, culminating with a sold-out luncheon for women featuring Chris Crowley, author of the book Younger Next Year for Women: Live Strong, Fit, and Sexy – Until You’re 80 and Beyond.

Today, Melinda is a sought-after health and wellness coach, who works with clients across the U.S. and Canada.  With a master’s degree and more than fifteen years of professional experience managing, teaching, administering and developing programs, plus counseling and supporting men and women through transitions, Melinda encourages her clients to eliminate the toxins from their diets and to replace them with healthy, nutritious foods which will enable their bodies to begin the healing process.

As the author of the popular Beautiful-Older-Woman-Blog, Melinda writes under the pen name, Coco, about growing older with as much grace and style as possible.  In her second blog on the Diet and Cancer Connection, she writes about lifestyle changes needed to keep cancer and other major diseases at bay.

In 2013, Melinda was certified by Dr. McDougall as a Starch Solution provider.

Melinda lives in Tyler, TX, a beautiful city in the piney woods of East Texas, with her husband, a standard poodle, a pomeranian, and the three feral cats she cares for.  Her grown children are scattered and living in the much larger cities of Austin, TX, San Francisco, CA and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
